Akon S W Oton, age 69 of Ikot Oku Ikono, Akwa Ibom State.

It is with deep and profound sadness that we share the news that Mrs Akon S W Oton (popularly called Eka Aato) snuggled into the bosom of the Lord on May 16, 2020.

Eka Aato was born in Efa, Etinan and attended St. Theresa’s Secondary School Edem Ekpat and College of Education, Port Harcourt where she obtained her teaching certification. She went on to have a teaching career that spanned 31 years in private and public schools within the Rivers State School System. Although she formally retired, she never really did retire as she continued teaching Sunday school children at Deeper Life Bible Church Rumuodara Sunday school. Eka Aato was a tower of a woman with an insatiable appetite for reading, learning, and teaching, and an unbridled passion for her children. She loved to sing and never missed an opportunity to dance.

Celebrating her life are husband, S W Oton; her sons Oto, Mfon and Sunny (Jnr); daughters, Ndunno, Nseno, Sidibe, Victoria and Glory; her grandchildren, Russell, Oscar, Ifiok, Mfon II, Favour, Chidubem, Daniel, Chikere, Benita, Munachi, Chikamso, Iberedem, Abasienyene, Awangabasi, Samuel (Jnr) and Jemima; her daughters-in-law, Christina and Susan; and her Sons-in-law, Augustine, Olalekan and Samuel. She was a sister and a favorite aunty to a family of nieces and nephews; and a close friend and relative of many.
